Miyazaki considered to be one of the expensive mangoes in the world. The mango normally weighs 350 grams and above and rich in red colour. Miyazaki variety is originally from the Irwin mango variety. They have more sugar content, 15%, than normal variety mangoes. They are rich in antioxidants, beta carotene, and folic acid. The mango is different from the pelican mango, which is widely grown in Southeast Asia. In Japanese, the variety is called Taiyo no Tamago (Egg of the Sun), due to its peculiar shape and colour. The mango’s shape is like an egg and the colour is bright red colour. The mango is non-fibrous and has delicate flesh. When the mango is raw it will be purple coloured and when ripens, it will change the flaming red colour.
